Attaching a strap to a National Tricone and any electric guitar...pt.2
And for electric guitars it´s about the same. Only that you have to attach the straplock system of some sort, on the lower top corner of the pickguard and use a bigger screw. Or else it is the same again. The guitar stays on your belly no matter what, and your shoulders will not be damaged.
The risk here is stripping the hole where you have inserted the new straplock system. But hey, it is a tool, right? And not your, or any other living beings, body. :)
Again, it floats in the air. And looks like you´re pulling some magic trick.
By the way: I do not take any kind of responsibility of damaged guitars, but I gather that you already know that. :)
Attaching a strap to a National Tricone and any electric guitar...pt.1
Over the years I´ve had some severe backproblems, and having to carry guitars with my shoulders have sometimes been impossible, and the whole standing up while playing and singing and all that jazz, have just not been an option...sooo...here is what I´ve come up with after a lot of trial and error
(with encouragement from Curtis Blues...give his stuff a listen at www.curtisblues.com)

I took a couple of leather guitarstraps and tied em around one grill. Took the thin end and tied it to another (the brown strap) with a nifty black and white tread I bought from a nice lady in Somerville, MA, on the other grill.
The brown broad strap now goes around my back and down and get attached on the bottom of the guitar at the end strap pin...or what ever it is called. The guitar will now be staying on my belly, held up by my backside, and will now not damage my shoulders or my back. It works surprisingly well. Cut some different holes in the strap for different heights, but that was about it. I use a Jim Dunlop straplock just for safety reasons.

The only remote danger is that the pull eventually will push the neck out of place and will make the guitar require a neck reset. But I figured:
1. It is a National Tricone. If this guitar cannot take some abuse, then what guitar will?
2. If it damages the guitar in the long run (It has yet to occur, been using this for a couple of months daily now) It will be easier to reset the neck on the guitar, than on me :)
Another cool thing is that the guitar looks like it is floating on your belly...

The next album
Anyhow...my idea is to release tons of stuff in the coming year or so. I will go through the alfabet so the next album will be beginning with a "b" and be called Birdmachine. The one after that will begin with a "c" and so on.
I do not know if I will actually press it on anything or just make it available via digital download and through last.fm, myspace and such for streaming, as cds are getting really hard to sell, and are a hassle to produce. Hopefully I will be able to generate enough money to press some 7 inches in the not so distant future (a year or so). The thing about vinyl is that they are damn cool, durable and just have something that those little shiny plastic discs don´t.
I am in no way anywhere near a record deal or anything like that so this is like the best option I have for me to make some music and get it out so it is possible to easily listening in on it.

...and yes it works.
Now you can hear the Automaton album here. I will make playlists and put them on this page for streaming. Gotta love the digital revolution when stuff like this actually works. You should be able to find some of the music on last.fm too, please go search for it there once in a while. I´m not sure if it is really working yet but in a day or two it...
I can of course not upload the Gudssoennerne albums, because of the shared copyright. But do check out www.myspace.com/gudssoennerne for samples, and mail me if you want to get your hands on a copy at klarseen at gmail.com.

Last.fm
I am trying to make my music available for streaming on last.fm. If I can make it work, it should be possible to listen to the Automaton album, and soon after that a lot of different things...but I will try to make it work with the first album first.
The streaming should be free, but they supposedly are giving 10% of their advertising money to the artists, so if it works it sounds like a win/win situation. Everybody gets to listen to everything, and the people crafting the music will even get some kind of food to eat. Not bad at all...

IPC tomorrow
Going to play some music with Nikolaj, Magnus and Anders in Elsinore at the IPCs music night. Don´t really know what that includes, but I´m sure it will be loads of fun.
Headlines 1
Here´s attempt to trace up what´s been happening since I last year in no particular order:
1. Gudssoennerne is no more...only one Gudssoen if anything and that soen is not me. There was a lot of work put into the making of the Djinnen Gin book/cd, and none of it amounted to anything but the pieces laying in boxes never to be assembled. Not much to write about that that would not be angry.
2. Rikke and I went to USA for 5 months. Lived in Boston, and then traveled some. It was by far one of the biggest experiences ever for me, and us. We want to get back some day. Hopefully Rikke will get a PhD somewhere, and we can get a chance to live there for some years.
3. But first I have to get in to the university here in Copenhagen. And the exams I have to have have changed since we left for the states, so we have been working like crazy to solve the situation. Now it seems that an exam I took in 1997 might be just the one that will get me into the University. But nothing is for certain. One thing is for sure. I am getting older, and I do want to get an education...and I reeeeeeeally have to start soon...
4. I learned to build and bend a lot of stuff. It will come in handy, and I can play stuff as a one man band now a lot easier. I´ve stopped looking for people to play the Bandinikvartetten stuff with me. One day I realised that I was spending a hell of a lot of time meeting up with people and tracking people down, instead of just playing the damn music myself.
5. I´ve been sick. Both before we went to the States. Got really bad, thought I got cured. Didn´t. Got bad again in the states. Got a tooth removed over there. Got some strange antibiotics. Got weakened. Lost my hair back in Denmark. Got some rays and hormones. Still not well. Waiting for results of some blood samples. It´s bad, but it´s not like it´s gonna kill me. It´s just rough. Guess that´s what to say about that.
