The modified guitar. From 6 to 12 string.
This is the guitar I am playing in the Some of these Days video...
I have been asked some questions about this guitar, so quoting myself, here is a couple of answers.

Parts used:
-Epiphone Bluesmaster
-half a recorder
-one shoelace
-a set of three on a side tuners from an old parlor guitar
-small files for the cutting of the bridge insert and saddle.
I did not add a 12 string tailpiece. I just pushed two strings into every slot in the fixed bridge.
I figured that if it could take the last ten years of heavy beatings, I would be able to withstand this too. I tune down to C# too for extra safety, and for a deep rumbling bass.

Any kind of block of wood with holes drilled into it would work for the tuners. I just drilled some holes into a non-working recorder (the flute...) and sawed the extra lenght off. It worked just fine for:
Stuffing the extra tuners into the holes, which I tied down with the shoelace. The extra tuners are held in place by the old tuners. They make a cross and keeps themselves in place.

Then I cut the bridge insert and the saddle with the files. Take your time doing this...this is what makes all the difference...
And i used some innards from a powercable for seperating the strings at the bridge.
Hope this answers most of the questions. Or else...ask and I will tell.
